I’ve been dreaming of writing a book since I was a teenager. It started in my early high school years, encouraged by a few English teachers who saw something in the way I put words together. But if I’m being honest, the real spark came from somewhere else entirely, science fiction.
The very first sci-fi movie I ever saw was Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. I was ten years old. I didn’t know it at the time, but that film would alter the course of my imagination forever. It didn’t just entertain, it opened doors. Suddenly, I was wondering what lay beyond the stars, what humanity might become, and whether one person could make a difference in the vastness of space.
Later came The Next Generation, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica. Each one deepening the pull of those big ideas: exploration, sacrifice, hope, survival.
In high school, I had a 90-minute bus ride each morning, and another in the afternoon. Most kids might have dreaded it, but I used that time to dream. Every bump of the road was another beat in the story forming in my head. Over the years, that story grew. Characters came to life. Technology took shape. Plotlines twisted and evolved.
The result? A novel I’ve been refining for close to forty years: Galaxy’s Child. It’s a science fiction adventure rooted in everything I’ve ever loved about the genre, big questions, emotional depth, and the thrill of the unknown.
So why a blog?
Because I want to share this journey, not just the finished product, but the process. The long nights. The rewrites. The moments of doubt and the bursts of inspiration. I hope this space becomes a place where fellow dreamers, sci-fi lovers, and aspiring writers can connect.
If you’ve ever wanted to create something that lives beyond you, a story, a world, a message, then I hope you’ll stick around.
More posts coming soon.
