For the past 32 years, I’ve worked in the telecommunications industry, a field I’m still passionate about and actively involved in. But when circumstances recently gave me a little extra free time, I decided to finally pursue something I’ve been dreaming about for decades: writing a science fiction novel.
The idea for this story has been simmering in my imagination for the better part of 40 years. It’s the product of countless hours spent watching science fiction movies and television shows, particularly anything related but not limited to Star Trek. I’ve watched the franchise over and over again… much to the dismay of my family. (It still drives my wife crazy to this day!)
That long-standing inspiration became Galaxy’s Child, the first installment in a planned trilogy. The story follows a young man named Philip Anders as he faces personal loss, overcomes early-life challenges, and finds himself at the center of a revolutionary leap in human spaceflight. While the setting is futuristic, the themes are deeply human, growth, grief, love, loyalty, and the choices that define us.
Even if you’re not typically a science fiction reader, I truly believe there’s something in this story for you. I say that because even my sister, who has never been a fan of sci-fi, read it and genuinely enjoyed it. If she could get into it, there’s a good chance you might too.

I’m just getting started on Book Two of the trilogy, and I’ll be sharing updates on the writing process, behind-the-scenes insights, and more right here on this blog. Stay tuned!
